As some of you may recall, I did a piece for my blog on Paying it Forward… The response I received both on- and offline was so positive, and so encouraging that it definitely gave me hope as far as my country’s future is concerned. Fast-forward to Tuesday, January 11, 2011. As usual, I was flipping through the news online (I don’t buy papers; I find them clumsy!) and I came across the most AMAZING story in The Jamaica Observer.

I think I have a love-hate relationship with Christmas. The days and weeks winding down to the day itself are filled with anticipation and excitement. As a youngster, those feelings would be strictly due to whatever goodies I may be gifted with – oh, and seeing members of my extended family.
As I find myself steadily approaching 30, I realize I’ve gained a lot more introspection and lost a lot of my materialism – although, admittedly, there is still much that can be lost!

I saw this headline today at the DailyMail’s website “The greatest charity giveaway in history? 34 billionaires pledge half of their fortunes”…and thought, you know what? Maybe this is the Universe’s way of finally responding with some GOOD and uplifting news!
